Just say “Hey Siri,” and any of the following…

Sending

  • “Tell [name] I’m on my way”
  • “Send a message to [name].” (You’ll then be prompted for the message.)
  • “Send a text to [a phone number].”

Reading

  • “Read messages.” (Reads all unread messages)
  • “Read my last text from [name].”
  • “Read it again.”

Replying
After Siri reads a message she will ask “Do you want to reply?” You can say:

  • “Yes.” (And follow Siri’s prompting.)
  • “Tell them [your response.]”
  • “Call her/him.”
  • “FaceTime him/her.”

Sending
After starting a reply or composing a new message, Siri will ask you “Ready to send it?” You can say:

  • “Change it.” (In response to “ready to send it”—but when you want to edit it.)
  • “Cancel.”
